The emphasis on relationships over religious practices in Christianity has sparked considerable controversy, demanding a delicate equilibrium. While it’s impractical to explore every instance, a few examples shed light on the idea that, regardless of our actions, God seeks a personal connection with us. He yearns to be both a father and a friend to his children.

God desires our deeds to emanate from love rather than being mere rituals driven by the fear of hell or eternal damnation. Contrary to a perception of a vengeful Deity awaiting our mistakes to condemn us to hell, God, characterized by love, takes no pleasure in the death of a sinner. His ultimate wish is for everyone to comprehend the teachings of Christ.

People don’t face damnation due to God’s rejection; rather, it stems from their refusal to acknowledge and accept God’s love and forgiveness, through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus. Heaven mourns the loss of any soul, as it was never God’s intention for anyone to end up in a place not designed for them.

Whether it’s tithing, attending church, giving offerings, dressing, fasting, or leading a holy life, God desires these actions to originate from a place of love, not compulsion. Compliance out of fear of hell is not the intended motive.

It’s crucial to understand that one’s actions or lack thereof don’t determine hell-bound destinies. Rather, rejection of Jesus and the inherent nature of sin lead to that outcome. Accepting Jesus secures salvation, but living righteously post-acceptance is essential for an impactful Christian life on earth.

Salvation isn’t solely about securing a place in heaven; it’s about fostering a heavenly encounter on earth. God yearns for a profound relationship with the Holy Spirit and for individuals to relish the benefits of having Jesus in their lives.

While acknowledging the validity of doctrines for organizational purposes, biblical doctrine supersedes denominational rules. Some instructions are personal, like a directive to abstain from certain clothing or specific prayer commitments, tailor-made for an individual’s unique relationship with the Holy Spirit.

People must discern individualized instructions from God rather than imposing personal revelations as rigid rules for everyone. The guidance of the Holy Spirit distinguishes the children of God, The Bible says “As many as a led by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God”.

One thing I do constantly is to bring whatever I have learned or known about God before the God himself and ask him to re-evaluate the things I think I know, to ensure I don’t go astray or lead others astray.

In conclusion, fostering a genuine relationship with God, embracing holiness, and obediently following the Lord’s directives are encouraged. Before applying any biblical doctrine, seek understanding and revelation through prayer, assess its relevance in today’s context, and comprehend its original purpose. This approach ensures a nuanced understanding of whether historical scenarios align with contemporary circumstances.
